As part of the Expoliva international fair, the Spanish Association of Olive Oil Mill Masters and Operators (AEMODA) is organising an event at which it will present its 2025 Awards. The ceremony, which will be attended by the Provincial Councillor José Luis Hidalgo García, will highlight the commitment, dedication and innovation of the professionals who contribute to the quality and sustainability of the olive oil industry.
This year’s award winners are:
1st Recognition: Mr. Juan José Gaforio Martínez. Immunologist and professor in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Jaén (IDA), recognised for his research and dissemination work in the field of health and immunology.
2nd Recognition: Mr. José Vico. Agricultural Engineer, Qualified Technician in Integrated Production in Olive Oil Mills, Qualified Technician in Integrated Production in Olive groves and Internal Quality Auditor ISO 9001-2000. His main work focuses on making olive oil mills more efficient and profitable so that they can produce high quality oils.
3rd Recognition: (Posthumously). Mr. Vicente Serrano López. Psychologist, due to circumstances he began his working career as a yard and oil mill operator in the Sociedad Cooperativa Andaluza Agraria San José de Mancha Real, where he became Quality Manager.
During the event, the sixth edition of the National Congress of Olive Oil Mill Masters and Operators will also be presented, which will take place on 18 April 2026 at the Hospital de Santiago, located in <Úbeda(Jaén). This meeting is shaping up to be a benchmark platform for debate and training, with keynote speeches, round tables and the latest developments in the industry.
With this initiative, AEMODA reaffirms its role as a promoter of technical knowledge and the evolution of the sector, consolidating its support for the professionals who make it possible for olive oil to continue to be a standard of quality worldwide.
